Two years ago my boyfriend and I had a wacky idea. Let’s try ice fishing! Being from Chicago, we had never been ice fishing before so we searched the Internet for a guide and found Jeff. Jeff was amazing! He picked us up from our hotel room and took us out onto the ice. He took such good care of us. He drilled the holes, set up some heaters and gave us a tutorial on how to fish for walleye. Even though we were totally inexperienced, Jeff was patient with us and answered our questions and coached us. At the same time, he gave us space so we could embarrass ourselves without an audience. We didn’t catch anything but we had a blast. And we certainly didn’t go home empty handed. Jeff cleaned the fish he caught that morning, filleted them for us and brought them to us at our hotel room the next day. It was delicious! This past winter we simply had to try our hand at ice fishing again and we knew just who to call. This time we fished for whitefish. We got the same first-class treatment that we had received the first time. Jeff was even more determined than we were that we would catch a fish. He patiently showed us the proper technique several times and after mimicking him to a tee I caught my first fish on the ice! And not too long after, my now husband, caught two of his own. I would recommend Jeff as a guide to anyone even if they had never ice fished before. His patience even for beginners and his knowledge of fishing is unsurpassed.

I met Jeff in winter of 2008 when I hired him for a Perch fishing trip in Sturgeon Bay. Right of the bat, he treated me more like a friend than just a customer. Fishing was tough, but we stayed persistent and Jeff never stopped drilling holes to keep up with the school of perch! As far as I was concerned, Jeff went above and beyond my expectations of fishing with a guide. Throughout the winter he kept me on the walleye bite and showed me his versatility in his guiding service when we went out to the shipping canal and fished for Northern Pike and Brown Trout. I fished a few open water trips with him in spring of 2009 and we limited out every trip! If you are looking to catch fish and have a great time doing it, Jeff will be the one you can count on!
